About the Gallery

The Fiona and Sidney Myer Gallery (formerly the Margaret Lawrence Gallery) was established in 2001. Located on the University of Melbourne’s Southbank campus, the Gallery is a small but highly influential curatorial art space frequented by the general public and artists at all stages of their career.

The Gallery encourages meaningful connections and exchanges between artists, academics, students and the wider public. Our diverse program focuses on the curatorship of new work by local, national and international artists. We accompany our exhibitions with forums, public lectures, and artist and curator talks that expand the understanding of visual art and its broader social contexts.

The Fiona and Sidney Myer Gallery is generously supported by a gift from Fiona Myer and Sidney Myer AM. This contribution will enable the gallery to continue to elevate its pivotal work in the heart of Melbourne’s arts precinct for years to come.

We thank the Margaret Lawrence Bequest for its earlier support  and value its place in the Gallery's history.
