The University of Melbourne
Wind Symphony

The University of Melbourne Wind Symphony is led by one of Australia's newest international conductors Associate Professor Jackie Hartenberger, and features our very best student musicians.

As a conductor at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, I focus on advancing the artistry of wind ensemble music-making. Something I love about the Wind Symphony is the expression of colour. In fact, I believe that is why composers today love writing for woodwinds, brass, and percussion — because of the variety of emotion that can be conveyed through these instruments sounding together.Join us for a concert to hear it for yourself!
