A class-leading Library for the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music

The Louise Hanson-Dyer Music Library and the Lenton Parr Music, Visual and Performing Arts on the Southbank campus will be brought together to create a new contemporary library experience in the Hub Building.

The Faculty is supported by two prestigious libraries: the Louise Hanson-Dyer Music Library, currently located on the Parkville campus, and the Lenton-Parr Music, Visual and Performing Arts Library on the Southbank campus. These will be brought together on the Southbank campus to create a new library for students and researchers, and will be the largest library of its type in Australia.

Due for completion for the first semester of 2019, the new library will provide up-to-date digital and physical facilities to support the extensive collections of books, music scores, journals, media, special and rare collections, and improved social spaces for students and staff in the Hub Building.

The Southbank Campus Redevelopment program has been undertaken in close collaboration with the Victorian State Government, our philanthropic partners, the University of Melbourne, Faculty staff and students, and our Southbank neighbours.
