Art + Australia
Art + Australia is a publishing and research body that focuses on contemporary art and its relationship to broader theoretical, social and geo-political contexts. Based at the Victorian College of the Arts, Art + Australia presents a rigorous and uncompromising perspective on what might constitute both art and Australia in the twenty first century.
Context: A Journal of Music Research
Context is a refereed (peer-reviewed) international music journal that publishes original research concerning all aspects of music and music-related fields. In addition to articles, Context presents reviews of recent publications (book and other printed materials, but not CDs), interviews with composers and practitioners, and reports on ongoing research projects.
Éditions de l’Oiseau-Lyre
The publishing company Editions de l’Oiseau-Lyre was founded in Paris in 1932 by Louise B. M. Dyer (1884-1962), an Australian patron of music, and closed in 2013. It specialised in publishing early music in scholarly editions and also supported young contemporary composers by commissioning and publishing new works. The Melbourne Conservatorium of Music now handles the sale and distribution of Editions de l’Oiseau-Lyre music and books.
Lyrebird Press Australia
The LYREBIRD PRESS was established at the University of Melbourne in 2006 to continue the work of Éditions de l’Oiseau-Lyre (The Lyrebird Press), established in Paris in 1932 by Melbourne-born publisher and patron of the arts Louise Hanson-Dyer (1884–1962). The focus of the Melbourne Lyrebird Press is music and Australia.
