About Minor Music Performance
Minor Music Performance subjects allow Bachelor of Music Performance Major students who may wish to apply for a second instrument, or Bachelor of Music Composition Major students who may wish to continue their main instrument along with their Composition Major.
Subjects
Students who wish to enrol in Minor Music Performance are required to apply for permission for one of the following subjects:
- MUSI20025 Minor Music Performance 1 - Level 2 Music Elective, 6.25 credit points
- MUSI20026 Minor Music Performance 2 - Level 2 Music Elective, 6.25 credit points
- MUSI30050 Minor Music Performance 3 - Level 3 Music Elective, 6.25 credit points
- MUSI30051 Minor Music Performance 4 - Level 3 Music Elective, 6.25 credit points

Ensemble participation requirements for Minor Music Performance
Students approved for Minor Music Performance on a string, woodwind, brass or percussion instrument must participate in an approved MCM instrumental ensemble on their Minor instrument during the same semester.

Instrumental Ensembles
- Baroque Ensemble
- Big band*
- Brass Ensemble*

- String Ensemble*
* Audition required
Students approved for Minor Music Performance in voice must participate in an approved MCM vocal ensemble in voice during the same semester.

- Early Voices*
- Medieval & Renaissance Ensemble
- Vocal Ensemble*
* Audition required
Students approved for Minor Music Performance on a keyboard instrument (excluding percussion) are NOT required to participate in an MCM instrumental ensemble on their Minor instrument.
