Pre-orientation activities are an opportunity to get to know your cohort, and will ensure you are equipped to engage with your training in a safe and sustainable way. It is strongly recommended that you attend.

The Melbourne Commencement Ceremony (MCC) is the official celebration of your commencement as a University of Melbourne student. You'll be welcomed to the University and your Faculty at the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton during Melbourne Orientation. It all starts here!

The MCC marks the beginning of your journey as a University of Melbourne student and is the core of the Melbourne Orientation experience. The MCC signals the start of your studies in the same way that your Graduation will celebrate your completion at the end of your degree.

You'll be welcomed by University leaders and meet your first year peers within your Faculty community. You’ll hear from guest speakers and industry influencers who will wish you well on your journey with us.

Following official proceedings, collect your limited edition University hoodie, and enjoy interacting with your new academic community in a festival atmosphere with food and entertainment.

In order to receive your limited edition hoodie, make sure you register your attendance through the Student Life App.
