What our students say about their grant experience
"The opportunity through IgniteLab has taught me about the process of a recording project, including the composition, use of studio time, mixing and mastering requirements and the overall cost. It has improved my musical aturity and these lessons will allow me to go into my next project with a stronger idea of the process and with more confidence in myself."Elly Blackham
“The standards of professionalism modelled to me through the program gave so much guidance to my sincere yet underinformed desire to do and be my best, and have carried me through placements, job interviews, lesson scheduling, taxation, music licensing – everything professional and even some personal things. While I have still needed further growth in confidence, I consider my time at IgniteLAB one of my most positive and substantial experiences on that journey.” Bethany Clarkson
“Personally, in retrospect, the grant project we did was the catalyst for me undertaking a degree in music production after I finished my Performance Degree through which I am finding a lot of joy and creative outlets that I hadn't even considered before undertaking the project." Ali Goggs
“I can't begin to describe how elated I am to receive this news, thank you so much for giving me the opportunity. I never would have thought this passion project of mine would have some real weight in the context of university funding. Going through the process of doing this application and exploring the way this project and form of music performance can be a contribution to the community has been really helpful, and I'm feeling very inspired to make something special happen. I already have so many ideas that I would like to develop.” Jack Burton
