Emergent Fields presents the work of three Melbourne based emerging artists.

Caspar Connolly’s sculptures explore the intersection between nature and culture. He is particularly interested in the concept of the polysemous object—objects that can carry multiple interpretations simultaneously.
Jieun Ha’s practice adopts a gaze without specific assertion, a deliberate perception of casually occurring conditions such as the odd pairing or co-occurrence of things. Using abstraction and fragmentation to recompose objects and images into ambiguous states of place or mind, her works open new conditions for legibility.
Informed by their work as a librarian and artist, Camille Thomas explores drawing as a means of translation and collection. Thomas uses technical methods to reframe archival and digital materials into new and alternative visual narratives.
