Mobilised through a sense of light and movement, colour, rather than form, dominates Virginia Cuppaidge’s painting. Their radiant and sensuous surfaces reflect both the opalescent skies of New York and the expansive space and light of Australia. Gently referencing Australian architecture, Naoise Halloran-Mackay’s sculptures suggest transition and possibility. His ‘doorways’ can be understood as transition points or thresholds between humankind and nature, interiority and exteriority.
