Kate's PhD research investigates how a resource-oriented approach to music therapy assessment can contribute to the recovery of young people in multidisciplinary child and youth mental health services (CYMHS). Past consumers, current consumers, and current clinicians will be consulted regarding their experiences and perceptions of multidisciplinary mental health assessment, including music therapy assessment, in CYMHS. Thematic analysis and Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) will focus on helpful and unhelpful aspects of assessment to inform recommendations for resource-oriented music therapy assessment in CYMHS.
