Gaban

By Brook Andrew
Directed by Budi Miller
Presented by VCA Acting and Design and Production students

Gaban is a new Australian work written by First Nations artist Brook Andrew and directed by Budi Miller. It is a post-dramatic play about the effects of colonialism and the capitalistic exploitation of sacred objects. Gaban questions the narratives of museum art. Through what lens are the stories of these artefacts being told?

Due to the restrictions in place to protect communities from the impacts of COVID-19, the Faculty was unable to extend an invitation to audiences for this performance season. Examinations were performed following the advice of the Department of Health and the Victorian Government.
