This short course will provide you with the essential tips, practical tools, encouragement and confidence needed to prepare for auditions to the best of your ability. It is tailored specifically for VCE students and those planning to audition for the VCA Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting or Theatre) or other tertiary drama courses.
Guided by professional performing artist and practicing educator, Jenny Lovell, this workshop will help take the fear out of approaching a Shakespeare text and give you the edge on how best to prepare a dynamic Shakespearean audition piece.
Jenny is a senior teacher in the Theatre Short Courses faculty, highly regarded for her expertise with Shakespeare and improvisation. A founding member of Impro Melbourne, Jenny has worked extensively in the field of improvisation for over two decades, performing, directing and teaching nationally and internationally in improvisation festivals.
As an actor she has performed with Bell Shakespeare, Malthouse, Red Stitch, Theatreworks, La Mama and the Globe Theatre London, in addition to producing and performing her own work: In the Parlour for Melbourne Comedy Festival and What the Dickens at the Butterfly Club. Film and TV credits include MDA, Prisoner, Blue Heelers, Picnic At Hanging Rock and Gallipoli.
