Visual Art Studio: Drawing Foundations 2019
Do you have an interest in drawing and illustration and want to develop your skills? Are you looking to create your own personal visual language? Join VCA's Visual Art Studio: Drawing Foundations and take your skills to the next level!
Located in the arts precinct at Southbank, this intensive part-time year-long course is designed to provide adults with an introduction to the practice and study of fine art. The Visual Art Studio: Drawing Foundations program focuses on the multitude of possibilities that drawing can entail. Students are encouraged to build their own understanding of their personal visual language through exploring and experimenting with a wide range of materials and ideas related to the world of drawing. By thinking about drawing as a foundation to the development of other mediums and as a discipline in its own right, you will be able to build a body of artwork over the year.
Guided by a practicing visual artist and professional educator, you will harness your passion and improve your ability to work independently. You will learn fundamental drawing skills and creative knowledge to explore your own artwork at a level that suits your needs.
The program culminates in an end-of-year exhibition, where students have the opportunity to publicly display the artwork they have created. If you are looking to discover your hidden talent, learn new skills and take your drawing to the next level, then book now!
“I'd always been a bit afraid of portraiture but really loved trying something new and finally being taught how to do it. It was also great to be able to use the facilities and new materials.”
