An Afternoon at the Opera
Opera singers all over the world are trained on art song, and recognise that harnessing the intimate and personal power of this artform can enhance their operatic performances. In this delightful Sunday afternoon concert, a wonderful line-up of opera singers come out in support of the Melbourne International Festival of Lieder and Art Song, with a smorgasbord of treats from your favourite operas: La Bohème, Don Giovanni, Madame Butterfly and Tannhäuser within the walls of Parkville’s beautiful Melba Hall. To add to the excitement, a group of promising young singers will compete for a prestigious scholarship to this year’s Melbourne International Festival of Lieder and Art Song.
