Percussion Ensemble

MYRIAD is the Percussion Ensemble of the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music.

Established in 2020 and directed by Head of Percussion Brent Miller, MYRIAD is named in honour of the esteemed inaugural Head of Percussion, Barry Quinn, in acknowledgement of his legacy.

Each semester, MYRIAD presents concerts featuring diverse and eclectic programmes that showcase seminal repertoire, timeless classics, and works by staff and student composers, which are often world premieres.

Proudly championing Australian repertoire, MYRIAD also dedicates time each year in the studio to record new Australian music.

On tour, MYRIAD has visited several schools and performance venues across Victoria to offer workshops and side-by-side performance opportunities with school students. They have been featured in festivals including the fortyfivedownstairs Chamber Music Festival and Xenakis Xtravaganza (celebrating the centenary of Iannix Xenakis).
