Learn about Ensembles: Symphonic Ensembles (Orchestras, Wind Ensembles)
Audience: Music Performance students
Learn more about the Symphonic Ensembles program. Presented by Edwina Dethridge, Orchestral Coordinator, Jackie Hartenberger, A/Prof in Music (Wind Symphony, Conducting) & Associate Director (Ensemble Studies) and Chris Day (Lecturer in Music (Concert Band Conducting). The team will go through what’s happening in 2026, how the subject(s) work, and how ensembles fit in your course plan. Get an overview of the pre-semester auditions and how best to prepare for them.

Welcome to Peer Mentoring @ FFAM!
Audience: Undergraduate students
Welcome to the Melbourne Peer Mentor Program (MPMP)! As a new undergraduate student, you will automatically be matched with an experienced later-year mentor and a group of other first-year students. Join your Student Life team for an informal introduction to MPMP for Fine Arts and Music students. Learn how the program works at FAM, when you’ll meet your mentor, and what to expect in your first meeting during Orientation week.
Student Equity and Disability Services (SEDS) & FFAM: Bespoke Adjustments Explained
Audience: All
This session explores how SEDS works with FFAM students to design bespoke participation adjustments for specific courses, such as Opera and Visual Arts. We’ll explain what SEDS is, how to apply, and how adjustments can be tailored to the practical, studio-based, and performance demands of your course. There will be time for questions and discussion about what support might best suit your individual practice.

Stop 101 at Southbank: Everything You Need to Know
Audience: All Fine Arts and Music students
This session introduces new Fine Arts and Music students to Stop 1 and the range of support services available to help you navigate university life. Joshua and Skye will cover the types of administrative support Stop 1 can assist with, how and when to access our services, where to find us on campus, and key tips to help you get the most out of your time at Southbank. The session will also highlight other helpful student services and resources available to support you throughout your studies.

Timetabling & Room Bookings @ FFAM
Audience: All Fine Arts and Music students
New Fine Arts and Music students are invited to join this practical webinar to learn how to manage your timetable and make adhoc room bookings. The Timetabling and Room Bookings team will talk you through the key information in MyTimetable and give a live demo of TE Reserve to help you gain knowledge about managing your own schedule. There will be an opportunity for questions along the way.
