St Kilda Tales

Written by Raimondo Cortese

Presented by VCA Acting and VCA Design & Production
Directed by Alice Qin

A swill of characters from all walks of life find themselves in a perpetual sunrise over the streets of St Kilda. They wander, prowl and move to the continuous pulsating beat. Like atoms, they clash against each other and form temporary bonds, or repel each other, with sparks or explosions.

First presented by Ranters Theatre at Malthouse Theatre in 2001 as part of the Centenary of Federation Festival. It was inspired by the Melbourne suburb of St Kilda, where many original company members lived.
