Performing Arts Buildings
The Southbank campus features two state-of-the-art settings for creation, design and performance.
Known as Performing Arts Dodds Street and Performing Arts St Kilda Road, the multi-disciplinary buildings contain diverse learning and performance spaces.
Performing Arts Dodds Street
The Performing Arts Building on Dodds Street is a distinctive architectural landmark bursting with colour and character.
The building is used by undergraduate and graduate students to rehearse and perform, as well as to design and make theatre sets and costumes.
The facility delivers world-class acoustics, advances in design and theatre technology, and custom-built spaces for teaching musical theatre.

Performing Arts St Kilda Road
The iconic Performing Arts building on St Kilda Road, part of the original VCA complex, was designed by one of Australia’s leading architects of the era, Sir Roy Grounds.
In many ways ahead of its time as an educational facility, this much-loved building is inherently functional while featuring some playful postmodern touches.
The building contains five purpose-built dance studios and a range of theatre and performance spaces. The studios are airy and spacious, making the most of natural light and built for movement.
