Join MYRIAD (the Percussion Ensemble of the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music) for their latest repertoire instalment. Featuring performances of seminal works including Steve Reich’s classic ‘Six Marimbas’; landmark percussion trios, including Toru Takemitsu’s ‘Rain Tree’ and Erik Griswold’s ‘Nostalgic Strains’ Performances of stellar works by our own faculty composers, including Miriama Young’s ‘Iron Tongues’ and Stuart Greenbaum’s revised ‘Sea of Tranquility’; a reimagining of Claude Debussy’s Petite suite arranged for marimba quartet; and a likely Australian premiere of a little-known work by Sofia Gubaidulina for seven percussionists: ‘Misterioso’.
