Sculpture at the Victorian College of the Arts prepares you for a career as a professional artist. You will have the opportunity to engage with significant contemporary art practitioners, academics and other art industry professionals. Fostering a contemporary art discourse, we offer a studio and workshop-based curriculum in which students develop skills in the thinking and making associated with contemporary and traditional sculptural and installation processes.

Students are encouraged to develop their unique artistic endeavours, initially through structured semesters, followed by independently led studio practice. Students in the program produce diverse artistic outcomes, from object-based sculpture to installation and public art.

You will use techniques and media such as:

  • mould-making
  • bronze casting
  • assemblage
  • steel and timber construction
  • video
  • performance
  • photography.
