The University of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, 22 May 2022

Join the University of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in their second concert of 2022 and share in a kaleidoscopic experience of musical imagination. The performance will open with the world premiere of Tom Henry's ‘Visions from the interior (after Fred Williams)’. Brian Luo, the joint winner of the 2021 Conservatorium Concerto/Aria Competition, will then join to perform one of the most technically challenging concertos in the standard piano repertoire - Rachmaninov's ‘Piano Concerto No 3’. After the interval, the orchestra will perform Berlioz’ ‘Symphony Fantastique’, which portrays the semi-autobiographical story of an artist as he navigates increasingly nightmarish opioid hallucinations.
