For more than 20 years the Wilin Centre for Indigenous Arts and Cultural Development has connected Indigenous visual and performing artists and designers with pathways to their future in the arts.

We offer a Master of Fine Arts in Indigenous Arts and Culture. You will undertake independent research and develop advanced skills in Indigenous arts and culture. In this multidisciplinary course, students’ creative works can take the form of performances, writing, film, video and multimedia (cultural or otherwise). You will be supported by a supervisor and create a final thesis which can be a combination of a major project and dissertation.

Stories of Place

In Stories of Place, a shared first-year subject for all students studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts, we bring in a cohort of diverse and seasoned Indigenous artists to work with our students alongside academics from the Victorian College of the Arts. Watch footage from the 2022 delivery of Stories of Place as Tiriki Onus discusses the opportunity the subject gives students to engage with some of the sophistication and complexity of Indigenous arts practice – and to see the relevance for their own art form and practice.
